KPLI BI 2008 Institut Perguruan Tawau

I was supposed to shoot for them a week ago, but due to some time and weather condition constraint, I have to postpond it to friday morning. Taking group photo's is not an easy task. Directing a whole lot bunch of people is like dividing your effort to every person. I'm only used to directing couples and very less group photos. Well this time its a challange... I'm not sure if I manage to purge the best out of myself, but here's what we got in just appoximately an hour of shooting. Enjoy the pictures...
a bird's view shoot taken from above the roof
everyone.. JUMP!
and again, they jumped~
another different framing of the same bird's view photo series
see if you know any of these sweet charlie's angles....
looks like they are making a movie of some kind of drama-series....
looks like they are making a movie of some kind of drama-series....
landscape composition/framing... this time added some fake vignetting to add focus on them...
The Contrasting Black vs White combination
This time everyone act white and clean
A mix of landscape and portraiture... trying to focus on the landscape more on the individuals...
Bye guys, won't be seeing you around next year.. probably will meet again if when there's chance... God bless you all leaving IPTS... have a great day teaching=)

Daven & Abby's Wedding Day- Tamparuli

Happy Wedding Day to Daven & Abby, If you're viewing this, then do know that your wedding invitation through Friendster succeeded. Daven was a friend when I was studying in Highschool at GASS. He was the accountant doing his practical and I was a student. Later on we continued to share the same hobby in extreme 4WD sport. Now he's getting married and I'm glad to attend it pluss.... take part in finishing the food at the reception... nyum2!
Well, I was not the OFFICIAL Wedding PHotographer for their wedding, but as far as hobby goes, there goes Frisco with his weapon too... So here are some the shoots during the event..enjoy!
Aha.. edited and added some blur effect in this shoot, or wise the pic would looke dull and flat.. boring... Well the two "patung" infront mimick and mirors the couple themselves...
AWRGH!!! who has cleaner toe-nails?
This is a candid shoot, however if only the bride was leaning her shoulders back with the same stand, i think it would look great...
This shot was possible with the help of the secondary slave flashgun attached to my tripod. The built in flash lighted the flowers (set it to-1) and the flash set at full power handheld 1 meter away from the bride....
Bear Hug... this one is real..
Sweet.. Butterflies... I think this wedding setting will be admired by most butterfly loving women... urm, next time I raise buterflies lah.. sell it for weddings... kinda good business ohw!
Daven's Big bro-Archlee...
The bride was looking down, but the kids look upwards.. watsup? well, there's the extended slave flashgun attached to a folded tripod above them- hand held by Charlie.. I think he has tallent la... can be my assistant photographer...
everyone was like.. "look at the bride... awgh!"
This part was where they threw the flowers.. Wendell got a good shot of it where all flowers were captured well flying above them, while I was down bellow struggling hard with the AutoFocus..
beautiful bride surrounded by beautiful sweet maid...

Malanjin & Hylviana Wedding Photos

Here are some of the wedding photos preview. Just to note, the sharpness in every photo is bad due to lens droped. How I wished it didn't happened. But the lens however is not that expensive as the ones I'll be purchasing... thats the only thing that keep me at ease.. Can't wait how my new system will perform... (BLINK` BLINK` BLINK`)

Malanjin & Hylviana's Wedding Day

This is not a complete set, I am working hard to post this last night. Came back home around 6pm with tired body doing lots and lots of absurd photographying pose.. (psst, even lying on the grass.. MAN~ i tell you...). This time I am quite satisfied since I really have FULL control over both bride thus enabling me to direct them at ease. Hylviana is a wonderful and beautiful lady, its really "untung" for Malanjin to have her as his wife... Hylviana was my schoolmate before in GASS, and right now they are doing the wedding in the same school.... GASS really gives us a lot of good-good memories as a highschool student, miss it much.

Anyway, the weather wasn't that hot that day, it was a luck for them to have the breezy cool and cloudy day.... enabling me to take good-good shots without overexposing some part of the shoot. However, the saddest thing that happened was that my lens fell and there seems to be a problem in focusing inaccuracy. So I have to admit that some shoots it here are not as sharp and crispy as I expected. Well... thats really a nightmare... but I should be going easy coz something new is coming my way^^,

Landscape Shoots

I have many shoots kept in my External HD. If you are a photographer and love shooting, I suggest that you get yourself an External HD with the capacity of not less than 250GB. Right now I'm shooting 10mp at 3-4MB sized Jpeg or 16MB sized RAW format with a 8GB memory card. Just imagine if my memory gets full... eventually it will, I know, thats why I sometimes have hard time sellecting which pic to post when I have loads of option=) hehehehe...
These two shoots was taken when I was on my way back to Tawau from Kota Kinabalu. I traveled from Tamparuli at 5.30pm and arrived National Park, Kundasang at 6.10pm. At first it was cloudy and taking good landscape seems a disapointment, however luck changed and the clouds give way to the sun... and here are some of the shoots i manage to record.
I did saw a photographer near the Nunuk Ragang area (not really sure what mile was it), was thinking of stoping however time is catching me, I really need to reach my hostel before 2am and yes, i did manage to arrive safely with 3 stops of resting the eyes. This will be my routine most weekends until next year ends... and by then, I'll make travelling my great hobby.

Malanjin & Hyldiana's Outdoor Shot part 2

Its been  busy day this week (photographers are always busy) doing my assignments, I'm now back to show off another part of the shooting that day. I am just sharing with you my works, Everything wasn't that well edited i know, coz I'm rushing to share something before my blog become "bangas".
Malanjin or Cikgu Malanjin was very cooperative in the shooting, he even initiated some pose for us, COOL! but backstage, i was really-really dissatisfied with my lens. I haven't get myself a fast lens, this made my autofocusing lame. Focusing took 2-4 times of adjusting and in certain cases couldn't focus at all. Well i think its time for me to shift system. Oh haven't I talked about this over and over again???? yes...yes... yes.... i need an upgrade... That will be another different announcement. Meantime, its about Malanjin...
The effect of the OF (out of focus) grass leaves a sense of depth to the photo...
I always LOVE it when Couples are daring enough to kiss each other in the public, this is not that easy as its against our local culture, but HEY!~ take a glance, its just once in your life to have your LOVING expressions taken by a photographer.... other times? well at least this one is formal....
Holding hands in silhouette blue, i did a bit of tricks in this photo which I am reluctant to disclose, its my secret and when I think about it, I Smile.. HAHAHAHA
This one is in B&W, there's another version in color, what do you think about it?
THe previous in B&W and this one in COlor, CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH ONE DO YOU LIKE MOST?
Now the previous post shows the girl looking otherways, this time she's looking at the guy, its just that the expressions is not what i wanted. By the way, this (amd the other one) was a candid shoot...
LOVE IS IN THE AIR...
Behind the stage, they are friends of the Groom, I was in, but croped my self out.. LA..LA...LA... LA....
TAdA!~

Malanjin's Outdoor Session

Remember I was searching for Bridal models this Raya? well I actually did find one. They are planning for a marriage this a month from now and I am happy to help them out with their outdoor shoot. The shooting was only 1 hour and 30 minutes and here are the shoots which I manage to edit tonight. Didn't really get the most out of them in that short perriod of time but the sunset was really worth it. Although you might be looking at a picture which is not that sharp as I expected from my dream lens, yet for a print of up to 12x8 or 12x10, this shouldn't be a major problem. But no worries, my new system will be arriving soon... and the brand? a secret...
I think they might be saying "look, you see superman flying???" LOL
I don't really like the white ballance management by my Pentax K10D, the shoot tend to turn yellowish.
Most friends like this shoot. We'll hope both of them will have a wonderful wedding day soon.. GBU2
Some commented that this one was a bit "Flat" but I dont think so, What I am trying to put up here is the two being illuminated by the external flash and that both of them will seem "poped" out from the scene.
Just now it was portrait framing, now its landscape.
Some commented that the bride should be looking at the groom, Well that doesn't mean it will be great. With the girl looking away, you will question WHY is she looking other ways rather than the bride? The question will lead you to the story of the photo, it makes you start thinking... Thats part of the artsy inside this shoot. Seeing both looking at each other somehow is quite BORING for me, Ofcourse I do have the shoot taken with the bride looking at the groom, but in technical terms, the shoot is not so great cause the lights from the flash doesn't fall on the brides face.
Here in this shoot, its more like a street photostyle. Its quite usuall to see two people posing, But what about with the national flag at the back?
Finally, our works comes to an end when its sunset. Will produce some other good-good shoots later to be posted... Do check out..
